Norman Bean will be our presenter on the topic of Graphite on Paper: “It’s all In the Value”. Discussion includes: Drawing, sketching and fine art; Graphite and saturation; Values of light and dark; The hues of black and grey, translating color into values; Contrast, how black is black, how white is white; Lines and shadings; The paper trail, tooth and grain; Tools of the trade. We regularly sponsor art shows for our members, some in partnership with other non-profit organizations, and some through local businesses. We encourage each other in our artistic endeavors, and hope to achieve a broader understanding of the arts in the community. Information about upcoming shows is in the For Members section.

Meetings are held the first Monday of the month at 7 pm September through May in the San Marcos Public Library except when a holiday interferes. During the summer there may be special meetings, such as the life drawing sessions.
